Naruto cosplay Ninja Sandal Tutorial

In our last post, we have teach you An easiest way to make a Naruto forehead guard, and today , we will take about how to Naruto Ninja Sandal.
Step 1: Supplies
-Sandals
-Scissors
-Hockey Tape
-Knee Length Athletic Socks
I used strapped sandals as you can see. Thong sandals would work only if you want to keep the thong (like sand village sandals). Flip-flops will technically work but actually don’t look good enough because the back tends to suck in to the overhang between your heel and the end of the sandal. The back strap gives support and makes an even rise on the back. The tape and the socks should have the same color as each. The socks should be long, but you don’t have to treat it seriously. I will explain this item further later. Many socks have a logo on them but when it’s on the ankle or higher it won’t be seen any more and don’t make any trouble.
Step 2: Creating the Base
We are going to pull the sock over top of the sandal to make the base.
Apparently the bigger the socks are that the easier this will be. The socks, however, that I used in the pictures were the third time I made them. I used Size 6-8 Socks to cover those size 13 sandals. They were a little shorter than what I have expected but it turned out to be good.
Step 3: Making the Cut
I used the same sandals every time when I was doing this. I suggest that you follow the lines of the sandals to make the cut.
I marked it out here with a fabric pencil (optional, I only did this for the demo)
I used scissors to cut across from there, just go with the end of the sandal and the line I had drawn. I just tuck my toes back and slice through as I usually favor but it would be much safer to take off the sandals before cutting anything. Whatever you’re comfortable with.
This is what it looked like after the cut:
Step 4: Seal It Up
In this step the hockey tape is used to seal the edges, make it tight and keep it from fraying. The top is the first place to tape. Then tape the top of the sandal on the edge, wrapping it around in order to hold the sock to the sandal. This is a little weird to describe so here’s a picture for you:
Then let’s tape the other side of the sandal leaving open by cut, which is taped to the inside sole of the sandal underneath where your toes would be. This is the other sample picture:
This time, it wasn’t so neat as some of the others I’ve done before but it works and you get the idea. For this part I made it leaving the sandal on instead of taking them off. Wither way will work but leaving them on and having somebody take it up for you works really well.
Step 5: Finish Up
Look at the reference pictures. There is a larger cuff at the ankles that you can see. You can fold the extra length of the socks down into that cuff to create this. Obviously this is the solution to solve the troubles on those have logos on the socks. It won’t look bad if you don’t have the extra long socks, but it’s quite possible for a few people to notice that there’s a missing Cuff.
YOU’VE DONE!
Hoorah! Sandals! Your well-done product should look something like this:
