Nov 13 at 8:08am by admin
Feather wings are uber cool and can add that extra touch to your costume. But lets face it they are gorgeous and they can be super expensive! So how about making your own. That’s where this tutorial might be able to help you out. There are several methods out there, this is just the way we made ours. ^_^ The wings for this tutorial are based off of wings drawn by Arina Tanemura in her work Fullmoon wo Sagashite. Here are some example of what we worked from.
Well now you might want to see what the finished product looks like. In the measurements for each wing are roughly 17 in. long and 10 in. high. The total wingspan for the Izumi Rio wings (bottom picture) measures roughly 40 in.

Maybe you have followed the instructions we offered before to make a folded wings, but this time we’re going to make something flowery and magnificent. Before we do this, take a look around to see what other people have done, and we decide to emulate the popular wings of Victoria’s Secret. This stuff is really big and has musculature in them. When you wear them, it’s fairly large and thick, and it’s wearable.
As I mentioned, this article is going to tell you how to make your wings floppy and large. Of course there are tons method to make different kinds of wings, but in my point of view this kind of wing better display the sense of flowery and holy. In addition, this technique requires a lot of work though, so if you’re not interested, esp. in creating the musculature underneath the wing, better turns to other ways.
cosplay tutorial Making polyester resin jewels.
Sep 20 at 10:10am by admin
We often see fancy ornaments in anime, such as a ruby or sapphire embedded in a sword, or jade set in the ring of some graceful roles. Dare you want to make the jewels out of usual materials too? But sure it’s impossible we really take expensive into these cosplay props, so this time we’re going to make jewels out of resins. We choose polyester resins aside from other kinds, because it is a completely different product, which is clearer than other kinds, and it cannot be easily removed from the mold until it’s totally hard.
This time we practice our work on this Trinity Blood costume. As I mentioned before, to make the jewels out of resins save you a lot of money to make other props, only problem is that you need an appropriate mold to make these jewel perfect.
cosplay tutorial-Fitting and patterning by muslin
Sep 14 at 2:02am by admin
Supplies:
-a reference picture from cosmic or magazine or whatever you want
-muslin
-mark pen or chalk
-pins
-a helper
It’s so common to notice that lots of costumes do not look like, even remotely, everyday wear clothes, especially in anime. If you are diligent in this career, you can always make a draft pattern from scratch, yet rest of us do not have that talent and energy, or not industrious enough, then we got to choose some commercial pattern from magazines.
Here we’re going to give you some examples of how you can utilize a commercial pattern and alter the design into your own costume. The main fabric we use is muslin, which is to make a mockup of the garment, fit, modified then torn apart to be used as pattern pieces.
The ultimate tutorial to teach you how to make cosplay armors
Sep 8 at 12:12pm by admin
In our last posts, we have discuss more about “how to make cosplay armors“, but so some readers email me to ask some more details about how to make cosplay armos, the materials and the basci process.so this time , we will continue to share some more details.
When you hear the word: armor, it may remind you of metallic, heavy, chained iron slices or steel boards. It may also give you a image of cavalry, knight, samurai or marshal, etc, but definitely nothing about cosplay. Yet in recent years, the number of people who display the love in cosplay is growing vastly, and with such trend the theme for cosplay varies differently for example game cosplay, the armor becomes one of the highlights in it. Therefore armor and cosplay which may seem irrelevant words become the theme of this text.
As usual, we analyze the material in cosplay armor making. We can choose our stuffs among lots of candidates, such as fiber glass, EVA, paper boards, or aluminum wrapped boards. In this article we mainly discuss the manufacturing of armor in EVA.
Let’s take a look the picture of our finished goods.
This is a typical EVA armor, light, good quality in sight or touching, and multiple layers. The painting surface may be thick and easily yield seams due to the use of cream glue. But that doesn’t influent the result on stage. To make this armor, we first use thick paper, or paperboard to make the mockup. It’s kinda like fashion design. Check out a whole mockup in the next pictures.

Sep 1 at 8:08am by admin
The story has reached its climax after moves forward for 10 years. There are new roles, new costumes and new weapons. The emergence of the case explains the power of the ring, and the descendants of rainbow have manifested their abilities. With characters being cosplayed continuously, this works has accumulated its popularity and attention to an unprecedented level. Recently, ‘Reborn’ has climbed to its highest rank, the forth place on most cosmic websites—and the first three are “Naruto”, “Bleach” and “One Piece”. Along with the hot clicks, I noticed otaku ask for the latest version of Sawada’s X glove on online store. In my opinion, it’s better to make own props in speaking of cosplaying. So, in later words I’ll analyze it and give my own advices in making the prop.

Naruto cosplay Kakashi’s Formfitting Mask tutorial
Aug 22 at 1:01am by admin
I finally decided to type up a tutorial for you on how to make your own Kakashi’s (Naruto) form fitting mask. I hope that I can give my personal help to those Kakashi cosplayers on this tutor as you like. I am doing this only to help you make your cosplay better. You can finish all of this in about thirty minutes(with a sewing machine).
Materials
1) Fabric - Jersey Knit or Stretchable Knit or similar
2) Pattern - provided below
3) Velcro - to fasten mask about your neck and face.
Pattern
Pattern is the very first step you should decide. Here we provide a rough sketch of a pattern for you. The pattern we provide is only for a neck of 14’’ in circumference. So if your neck is bigger or smaller, you should alter the pattern to fit it.
I put the pattern with numbers and different colored lines. You can sew the pieces together after the green lines. The hem is after the blue ones.
Put your chosen pattern on the folded material. When you see the words “Place On Fold”, you may put the part of the pattern up to the fold of the fabric. Cut off the pattern from your material. Your end up will be like a butterfly look. You are required to sew the two parts together, where 2 and 3 are circled.
Naruto cosplay Ninja Sandal Tutorial
Aug 17 at 10:10am by admin
In our last post, we have teach you An easiest way to make a Naruto forehead guard, and today , we will take about how to Naruto Ninja Sandal.
Step 1: Supplies
-Sandals
-Scissors
-Hockey Tape
-Knee Length Athletic Socks
I used strapped sandals as you can see. Thong sandals would work only if you want to keep the thong (like sand village sandals). Flip-flops will technically work but actually don’t look good enough because the back tends to suck in to the overhang between your heel and the end of the sandal. The back strap gives support and makes an even rise on the back. The tape and the socks should have the same color as each. The socks should be long, but you don’t have to treat it seriously. I will explain this item further later. Many socks have a logo on them but when it’s on the ankle or higher it won’t be seen any more and don’t make any trouble.
Step 2: Creating the Base
We are going to pull the sock over top of the sandal to make the base.
Apparently the bigger the socks are that the easier this will be. The socks, however, that I used in the pictures were the third time I made them. I used Size 6-8 Socks to cover those size 13 sandals. They were a little shorter than what I have expected but it turned out to be good.

Cosplay tutorials the making of accessories on armors
Aug 11 at 12:12am by admin
These days, we are very busing in making our new cosplay costumes, the most important part of this costumes is the accessories on armors. so today, i will teach you some basic ideas to make the accessories in this tutorial.
1.Tools and materials
Graver, scissor, EVA, thick unbleached craft, power glue .
The picture above is a screen break of Korean online game Priston Tale II, and we’re going to make the accessories on the armor. In my experience, there are three materials that can be used to make this prop.
1) Glass fibred reinforced plastic: 100% emulate the real stuff, good effect and quality. But the cost is high, and the material itself is heavy and difficult to deal with.
2) Wood: cost less and good modeling. But need good sculpture skills and the texture is not so persuasive after coloring.
3) EVA: light and simple to use. But bad in shape.
After some comparison, we decide to use EVA. (EVA is also called polymer density foam, and is used to make stuff like the bottom of flip-flop. Of course things mentioned here is something you can purchase in fairs.)
2.Process
PILI Luna shoot gun tutorial
Aug 4 at 5:05am by admin
Hello everyone, today we’re going to present you the process of making Yue’s weapon—-Luna shoot gun.We emit some pictures in order to save the time and space, because the processes can be complex and confusing due to the trivial and numerous pieces. As a result, you should be really familiar with the previous blog’s introduction to making cosplay props, for it is better to manage some conceptual basement and technical knowledge. Usually, I start with some pre-made elements, and then establish the scaling and size of rest parts according to these elements. In this way(which is really effective) it can prevent me from making mistakes which involves elements of different scales made hastily in the first place but cannot be matched well in the final assemble. Sorry for the complicated presentation if you cannot get it.
Materials:
1. Organic Board: you pick this board in a lettering shop or an Ad shop. This kind of board is flexible but thin, suitable for making small parts or ornaments in low relief on the surface. Strongly recommend ABS board if possible.
2. Acrylic Board: it’s thicker but more fragile than the first one. And it’s not easy to be out of shape, so it’s suitable to make the base. When you cut this kind of board, it’s possible to break the board so you have to pick material less than 2 mm.
3. PVC Board: You can find in a large Ad shop. It feels like thick paper board and bends to some angle when warm up. It is easy to cut off compared to the first two materials. You can use PVC to make some simple accessories for its better endurance. I use the 3 mm kind.
How to make bootscovers for cosplay
Aug 3 at 10:10am by admin
In my old post, i have provide the way to wrap shoes, and today, i just wanna talk about the bootscovers making in cosplay:
Steps for non-strechy method:
1.Prepare a pair of shoes/boots which have the shape of sole/heel/front that you like firstly.
2.Get some muslin/cheap fabric, then cut them into two pieces, which matches the rough size of the already finished shoes/boots.Leave some extra for the next seam allowance in case.
3.Put on your shoes/boots,choose one piece of the finished fabric and place it on either side of your leg. Then begin to pin, making necessart seams down the front and back.Be sure that the seams must be straight and the fabric fits for your leg exactly(unless you’re making an oversized boot).Once you’ve got the correct boot shape, use a pen to mark where the seams are on both sides, also remember to mark where the bottom of cover to be.Then pins can be removed.
